Croatia Airlines flies to the new Terminal at London-Heathrow Airport

The official move to the new residence, known as the Queen's Terminal, was marked today with the arrival of 128 passengers on flight OU490 from Zagreb.

Zagreb, 15 September 2014

As of today, Croatia Airlines, the Croatian flag carrier and a member of Star Alliance, carries out its operations at the London Heathrow Airport at the new Terminal 2.

The official move from Terminal 1 to the new residence, known as the Queen's Terminal, was marked today at about 13.30 p.m. with the arrival of 128 passengers on flight OU490 from Zagreb. That was the beginning of a new experience at the busiest European hub for Croatia Airlines customers.

According to this year's summer flight schedule, the Croatian flag carrier directly connects London Heathrow with Zagreb, Rijeka and Split, where passengers can choose from a total of nine direct flights a week. Daily flights are scheduled from Zagreb, while flights from Rijeka and Split are scheduled once a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays respectively.

Let us remind you that Terminal 2 is the new home of Star Alliance at London Heathrow, which opened its doors to the very first passengers on June 4th of this year. It was jointly developed by Heathrow, Star Alliance and its member carriers, with an aim of establishing a truly seamless hub at one of the world’s premier international airports.

Terminal 2 is optimised for today’s air traveller. It offers premium quality to the passengers and significantly facilitates their travels. Once all airlines are in residence, connections for transfer passengers will be smoother than ever, with a minimum connection time of just 60 minutes.

Technology is integrated into the terminal experience and will be used throughout to give the passenger control of their journey. The check-in area has been specially designed for speed and efficiency. Airlines are grouped in zones, while a row of 81 common use self-service kiosks can be used by any passenger to check in and/or print a bag tag before they proceed to a bag drop desk to hand their luggage to an agent. Full-service traditional check-in desks are provided for the use of First Class, Business class and Star Alliance Gold passengers. Premium passengers also have a fast-track option to speed them through the security checks.

Eight out of 12 gates at the T2B satellite allow self-boarding, meaning passengers simply pass through a mechanical barrier to board their flight.
