Croatia Airlines expanding its network of destinations for the third consecutive year

Three new routes are introduced and the number of weekly flights on existing routes is increased

Zagreb, 31st January 2018

Croatia Airlines, the Croatian national carrier, and a member of Star Alliance, is again expanding its network of European destinations this coming tourist season. This will provide passengers with more choice and more travel plan options.
For the first time in the company’s history, Croatia Airlines is introducing regular international flights on the Zagreb – Dublin route. Flights will be operated twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, from 3rd May to 28th October 2018. Return tickets for these flights are available online as of today on the website of the company at promotional prices starting from 189.00 euros, or from 219.00 euros for connecting flights from Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar and Pula (via Zagreb) to Dublin.

A new seasonal route connecting Dubrovnik and Munich is another novelty. It will be operated five times a week – on Mondays, Tuesdays,  Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays – starting from 30th April. Return tickets for these flights are available online at prices starting from 129.00 euros at www.croatiaairlines.hr.

Yet another novelty is the introduction of flights on the Split – Copenhagen route, which will be operated on Saturdays from 5th May to 20th October this year.

In addition to the introduction of new flights, the number of weekly flights on certain existing routes is increased in this year’s summer timetable. More specifically, as of 4th May, four additional afternoon flights on the Zagreb – Skopje route are introduced. This will be particularly convenient for transfer passengers travelling to Skopje via Zagreb from European hubs (Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt and others).

More weekly flights will also be operated on the Zagreb – Dubrovnik – Rome route. More specifically, in addition to the existing flights on Saturdays and Sundays, an additional flight will be operated on Wednesdays as of the beginning of May.

Croatia Airlines is continuing to operate flights on all seasonal routes introduced during 2016 and 2017 – from Zagreb to Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki, Bucharest, Lisbon, Milan, Prague and St. Petersburg. In addition to the existing flights to St. Petersburg on Thursdays and Sundays, an additional flight is introduced on Tuesdays.

During this year’s summer timetable, seasonal flights to many attractive European destinations, such as Athens, Barcelona, Lisbon, Venice and others, are also reintroduced, with the number of regular domestic flights increased as well.

This season, Croatia Airlines will operate regular flights directly to 39 destinations in 23 European countries, with the capital of Zagreb connected with five Croatian airports.

Like last year, due to the expansion of its network of destinations and an increase in the number of flights operated, Croatia Airlines is leasing two Air Nostrum 100 CRJ1000 aircraft with a 100-seat capacity for the upcoming tourist season. This will supplement the company’s existing fleet of six Airbus aircraft (four A319s and two A320s) and six Dash 8-Q400 aircraft.

Last year, the Croatian national carrier flew a record-breaking 2,125,000 passengers, which is a 10 percent increase compared to 2016. This positive passenger traffic trend is expected to continue this year as well.
