Baggage of unstandardized dimensions and weight, sports equipment, musical instruments and other baggage
On making your flight reservation don’t forget to specify the type of sports equipment, musical instrument or other unstandardized baggage you will be taking with you. Transportation of such baggage is charged according to special tariffs. Should it exceed the allowed limit of 75 kilos of weight, it has to be transported as cargo shipment.
So as to make sure your priceless musical instrument will not suffer any damage during the flight, we advise you to purchase an additional ticket for it so you can place it on a seat next to you.
Transportation of bicycles is not charged extra if the weight of the bicycle does not exceed the allowed weight of checked baggage. If it exceeds the allowed weight, €30 is charged for flights within Europe and €60 for flights outside Europe.
Transportation of golf and ski equipment is not charged extra if the weight of the equipment does not exceed the allowed weight of checked baggage. If it exceeds the allowed weight, excess baggage charge will apply. Please contact the nearest Croatia Airlines office for further information.
We also kindly ask you to contact our offices for information about the prices of transportation of other sports equipment.
Checked baggage irregularities
Although we will do everything in our power to transport your baggage on time and without any irregularities, they, unfortunately, can occur. Please find information on carrier’s liability regarding checked-in and hand baggage in General conditions of carriage, and on the ticket cover.
Any irregularity has to be reported in the Lost & Found office at the airport of your arrival.
If you travel frequently and/or carry valuable or fragile items, you may take out an insurance policy with an insurance company, considering that carrier’s liability is limited.
