Star Alliance

At a ceremony held on 18 th November in Frankfurt, Germany, both Adria Airways and Croatia Airlines signed contracts which will see both carriers become regional members of the Star Alliance network as of December 15, 2004. With the addition of these two carriers, Star Alliance, the airline network for Earth™, will further enhance the quality of its network, especially to and from south-eastern Europe, strengthening the alliance’s role as the leading airline alliance to the new and future EU member countries. Star Alliance already offers more than 1750 weekly flights to 21 destinations in the ten countries which joined the EU in May of this year. More importantly, customers in both Adria Airways’ and Croatia Airlines’ respective home markets will now benefit from improved access to the world-wide Star Alliance network. Moreover, both airlines’ passengers will benefit from the customer proposition offered by the Star Alliance member carriers, such as through check-in, status recognition, lounge access, frequent flyer accrual and redemption.

Star Alliance was established in 1997 as the first truly global airline alliance to offer customers global reach and a smooth travel experience. The member carriers offer more than 14,000 daily flights, serving 755 destinations in 133 countries.

Lufthansa                 
Co-operation between Croatia Airlines and Lufthansa has brought numerous privileges and advantages to their passengers. The excellent connection to Germany consists of flights from Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik to Frankfurt and Munich, as well as from Zagreb to Berlin, Düsseldorf and Hamburg via Munich and Frankfurt. In co-operation with Lufthansa, there are altogether twelve daily flights from Croatia to Germany and the same number from Germany to Croatia. This offers many possibilities to passengers, especially to those travelling on business. The timetable is adapted so as to enable morning and afternoon flights from Zagreb to connect with most of the flights departing from the Frankfurt and Munich Airport to destinations all over the world. Already at the check-in you will notice a common desk for Croatia Airlines, Lufthansa and other Star Alliance members, where you can also check-in for all flights until your final destination. By synchronising their transport conditions and offering several special services, Croatia Airlines and Lufthansa operate joint (Code-Share) flights using the designation of both partners in all of the world's reservation systems.
Austrian Airlines                 
Croatia Airlines in co-operation with Austrian Airlines connects Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik with Vienna, Prague and Scandinavian destinations.

Brussels Airlines                                                           
Croatia Airlines in coopertion with Brussels Airlines directly connects Zagreb and Split with Brussels.
TAP Portugal                  
Croatia Airlines in cooperation with TAP Portugal daily connects Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik with Lisbon, Porto and Bologna via various European destinations.
Turkish Airlines                   
On the route Istanbul-Zagreb-Istanbul, flights are operated by Turkish Airlines with Croatia Airlines as the marketing carrier.
SAS Scandinavian Airlines                      
Croatia Airlines in co-operation with SAS Scandinavian Airlines directly connects Zagreb with Copenhagen four times a week.
As a result of the commercial co-operation, Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik are additionally daily connected with Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Gothenburg and Helsinki via different European towns.

 
Spanair

      


Croatia Airlines in co-operation with Spanair directly connects Zagreb with Barcelona six times a week.

Swiss International Air Lines                       
Croatia Airlines in co-operation with Swiss International Air Lines connects Zagreb with Zurich and Geneve two times a day, Split with Zurich four times a day and Dubrovnik with Zurich three times a week.
