Croatia Airlines’ two millionth passenger in 2018
20th October 2018, Split
Croatia Airlines, the Croatian national carrier and a member of Star Alliance, today recorded this year’s two millionth passenger. This year’s two millionth passenger was Olinka Gašparović aboard flight OU4439 from Munich to Split operated by Croatia Airlines.
At a ceremony at the Split Airport, which was held immediately after the plane landed from Munich at 11:40 am, Croatia Airlines’ Director of Sales and Marketing, Mr Boris Kolka, presented this year’s two millionth passenger with two return business class tickets to one of Croatia Airlines’ international destinations (of the passenger’s choice). On behalf of the Split Airport, Croatia Airlines’ two millionth passenger was also awarded by the Assistant General Manager of Split Airport, Mr Ante Teklić.
– This year’s two millionth passengers was recorded 16 days earlier than in 2017, when we flew over two million passengers during a calendar year for the first time in the history of the company. In 2018, we’re expecting to fly over 2,200,000 passengers aboard our flights, which is the largest number of passengers flown within a year since the launch of commercial flights in 1991 – said Mr Boris Kolka, Croatia Airlines’ Director of Sales and Marketing.
– We are pleased that the Croatian national carrier is welcoming its two millionth passenger on a flight to Split, and this in the year in which the Split Airport has already recorded over 3,000,000 passengers for the first time in its history. We are also pleased with this year’s good business results of Croatia Airlines, one of the most important airlines flying to the Split Airport, first and foremost because Croatia Airlines flies to Split throughout the whole year, thus connecting Split and Dalmatia with the rest of the world – said Mr Ante Teklić.
In the period from the beginning of the year to date, Croatia Airlines recorded a 3 percent increase in passenger traffic, which in passenger numbers during the same period translates into 52,000 more passengers than in the same period last year.
It is worth reminding that, in May this year, nearly 214,000 passengers flew aboard flights operated by Croatia Airlines, which is a record number of passengers in May in the history of the company.
This year, Croatia Airlines is planning to fly over 2,200,000 passengers, which is the largest number of passengers flown within a year since the launch of commercial flights in 1991.
