Croatia Airlines and Zadar partners present winter Zadar–Munich route in Bavaria’s capital
10 September 2025, Zagreb
Last night, Croatia Airlines, the Zadar County Tourist Board, the Zadar Tourist Board, and Zadar Airport presented the winter Munich–Zadar scheduled service to German business (B2B) media and travel agents in Munich.
This direct service by Croatia’s flag carrier will, for the second consecutive year, connect Zadar with the largest city of the German federal state of Bavaria during the winter season. Flights are scheduled from 28 October this year until 6 January 2026, twice a week – on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
At the presentation, Marija Pavić, Head of Sales at Croatia Airlines, highlighted that the winter Zadar–Munich service contributes to the development of the economic and tourism potential of the Zadar County, to the successful operation of Zadar Airport, and to greater passenger mobility:
– Expanding the network of destinations is a strategic goal for every airport and airline, and with this route Croatia Airlines further supports the development of Croatia’s transport and tourism infrastructure, while strengthening the country as a year-round destination. Thanks to the cooperation with our partners, this winter we are once again offering passengers from Munich and Bavaria the most direct link to Zadar, one of the gems of our part of the Mediterranean, while providing residents of the Zadar County with easier access to Bavaria’s capital.
Iva Bencun, CEO at the Zadar Tourist Board, expressed her delight that, in the winter timetable, Zadar will be connected to Munich, one of Europe’s most important airline hubs:
– This route supports the development of year-round tourism, and allows visitors to experience our city in the unique atmosphere of the post-season and winter months, when Zadar exudes a special calm, authentic charm, and rich cultural heritage. Strolling through the historic centre without crowds, and enjoying our gastronomy and beautiful landscapes offer visitors an entirely new experience of our city. At the same time, connectivity with Munich brings important added value to our residents and the local economy, linking them to the world.
Hrvoje Anić, CEO at the Zadar County Tourist Board, emphasised that cooperation with Croatia Airlines will further strengthen Zadar’s position as an attractive and accessible destination throughout the entire year.
The Zadar–Munich route forms part of Croatia Airlines’ winter flight timetable, during which the company plans to operate nearly 10,000 flights and offer more than 1.18 million seats – an increase of 7.7 percent in flights, and 21 percent in seats compared with the winter flight timetable of 2024/2025.
Croatia’s flag carrier currently operates a fleet of 16 aircraft, including six new Airbus A220-300s with a seating capacity of 149 passengers. The most recent addition, delivered 12 days ago (on 30 August 2025), has been named Zadar, and will be serving both European and domestic destinations in Croatia Airlines’ network.
By the end of the year, the delivery of another new aircraft is expected – the first A220-100 with a seating capacity of 127 passengers. The entire fleet renewal project will be completed in 2027, when Croatia Airlines will operate a total of 15 new Airbus A220s.
