Croatia Airlines introduces year-round service to Barcelona
22 October 2025, Barcelona
Croatia Airlines, the Croatian National Tourist Board, and the Zagreb Tourist Board today officially presented the new year-round Zagreb–Barcelona service in Barcelona.
Previously operated as a seasonal route, which recorded strong passenger demand during the summer months, the Zagreb–Barcelona link will now also be available in the winter timetable, running from 26 October 2025 to 28 March 2026.
Flights are scheduled three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays – with return fares starting from €149, available at www.croatiaairlines.com
As Anamarija Jurinjak, Marketing Director at Croatia Airlines, explained at the presentation, the seasonal Zagreb–Barcelona route was introduced in the 2024 summer flight timetable, continued during this year’s tourist season, and will now be available throughout the winter months as well.
– By extending the Zagreb–Barcelona route to operate year-round, we are further strengthening the connection between Croatia and Spain, and enhancing Zagreb’s accessibility as an increasingly important European destination. In addition to meeting our passengers’ expectations, this move also supports tourism and business mobility. We believe this route will serve as a bridge further linking the two countries rich in culture, creativity, and openness to the world. More and more Spanish travellers are discovering Croatia outside the summer season, while Croatian passengers experience Gaudí’s city as the perfect blend of business, culture, and gastronomy. We are especially proud that passengers will be able to enjoy flying aboard our new Airbus A220 aircraft, offering greater comfort, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
Jurinjak added that this winter Croatia Airlines is expanding its network of international flights, increasing both the number of weekly operations and available seats compared to the previous winter season, continuing its strategic growth as Croatia’s flag carrier and a key promoter of Croatian tourism. Alongside Barcelona, the airline is also extending its direct international services from Zagreb to Berlin and Stockholm. During the 2025/2026 winter flight timetable, Croatia Airlines plans to operate nearly 10,000 flights, offering approximately 1,184,000 seats, representing a 7.7% increase in flights and a 21% increase in available seats compared to the same period last year.
According to the Zagreb Tourist Board, the new year-round connection between Zagreb and Barcelona holds great importance for the further positioning of the Croatian capital in the European market:
– We are delighted that Zagreb is becoming even more accessible to Spanish visitors, especially outside the main tourist season. This new year-round connection will further boost tourist traffic, as well as the exchange of creative and economic initiatives between the two cities, which share a passion for culture, art, and urban life – said Martina Bienenfeld, CEO at the Zagreb Tourist Board.
During this winter timetable, Croatia Airlines will connect Zagreb with 16 international destinations – namely, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Vienna, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London (Heathrow), Mostar, Munich, Paris, Rome (via Split/Dubrovnik), Sarajevo, Skopje, Stockholm, and Zurich.
Today’s presentation in Barcelona further underscored the importance of this air link for tourism and economic development, reaffirming Croatia Airlines’ role as a promoter of Croatia on the international market.
