Croatia Airlines welcomes fifth new Airbus A220 aircraft in Zagreb
28 June 2025, Zagreb – Croatia Airlines today welcomed its fifth new Airbus A220 aircraft in Zagreb. The latest aircraft, with a seating capacity of 149 passengers, bears the registration 9A-CAN and has been named Osijek. Like all previous new aircraft introduced as part of the fleet renewal programme, it arrived directly from the Airbus facility in Mirabel, Canada.
With the arrival of this latest addition, Croatia’s flag carrier enters the peak of the 2025 tourist season operating five new Airbus A220 aircraft. These aircraft will also serve the new seasonal routes from Zagreb to Hamburg, Bucharest, Milan, Madrid, and Prague, which are set to launch in the coming week.
Two more A220 aircraft are expected to be delivered by the end of this year. The fleet renewal project is scheduled for completion in 2027, by which time Croatia Airlines is expected to operate a total of fifteen new Airbus A220 aircraft – thirteen A220-300s, and two A220-100s.
